FIRE AND SMOKE DAMAGE

Fire damage is perhaps the most insidious and devastating damage that can occur to one's property. It not only destroys the interior of the home or property, but also can destroy the actual integrity of the structure by burning the structural members of a building. Its smoke permeates, and the entire structure is damaged. It blackens your personal property, i.e.; clothing, furniture, toys, even the inside of closets and drawers. Its odor is a lasting reminder of the heat and flames and soot, which wreaks its havoc while traveling through your home or place of business. The heat forces the soot into expanding crevices and absorbent materials leaving behind melted and disfigured messes or permanent discoloration. As if that's not enough, the water used to extinguish the flames leaves behind condensation stains, sagging ceilings, warped floors and putrid puddles absorbed into wet carpet, and fallen insulation.

Perhaps the worst damage of all is incurred by the people who live and/or work there. The blank stares of people whose properties have sustained damage from a fire speak volumes. A pattern of psychological recovery takes place shortly after the tragedy of such a loss, and is replaced by hope.
